Planning your online video strategy
Online video marketing is a sure way to boost your sales and convert leads to customers. Before you get started, it’s crucial you make a plan. Here are some tips on what to include:
Start off by planning the planning process. Brainstorm everything that needs to be done and work out when it needs to be completed. List everything that needs to be done and nothing can be left out.
Then create a timeline of your videos. Do you just intend to make one to place on your website? Or are you sharing it via social media and would like to make a series? Set out a timeline of dates to upload so you don’t lose track or fall behind.
Decide on your overall message. The only way to do this is to know your audience and know your final goal. Whether you just intend to make them laugh to relate to them or you want to be informative about your product, know how you want to say it. Nothing can happen without a script.
If you’ve decided to make a series of videos, get started on all of your scripts. You don’t want to be repeating yourself or losing sight of your end goal along the way.
Don’t forget to include a call to action in your video. If you aren’t sure how, get in touch with us at Punchy Digital Media today!
Length and distribution
Knowing where your video will be shown should never be an afterthought. This is an important step in the planning process. If your video will be shown on TV, you have up to 30 seconds to captivate your audience. If you’re making an online video for your website, you have a bit longer and you’re addressing a different audience. Knowing these details can make a huge difference to the success of your final piece.
Keep in mind that modern audiences have very short attention spans. A video longer than 2 minutes is unlikely to garner too many views.
A thorough plan is the key to a successful online video strategy, so take the time to do it right.
